Live Arcade for Windows Before Christmas
While we knew that Uno was coming to the PC and would allow cross platform play between PC and the 360, there was not much else in regards to the rest of the Live Arcade coming over to the PC.
Well, Computer And Video Games thinks that the Live Arcade for Windows could be making its debut before Christmas. They mentioned that 1up had found out that Live Arcade development kits went out to developers for an expected Holiday ’07 launch. Also, they got a hold of Rich Wickham, the director of the Games for Windows division of Microsoft. He said that they would like to get to a point where Live on the PC is the same experience as Live on the 360.
While this sounds great, I wonder if this means that my games that I have bought for the 360 would carry and be allowed on the PC for no extra points. Or if each would be considered separate. So far, I think you have to buy another copy of Uno for Windows, so it looks as if that may not happen.
Also, it leaves us to wonder what games will actually make the transition to PC. All the arcade games, or may we see some more retro PC games come to Live for Windows. Two suggestions from this writer: Starflight and X-Com would be great additions to the Live for Windows marketplace. Just a suggestion Microsoft.
