EA Plays Favorites With the 360

With the whole 60fps vs. 30fps debate with Madden 08 on the 360 vs the PS3, The New York Times decided to go to the source and ask EA whether they were playing favorites with the 360. And the candor that EA expressed was rather surprising.
EA basically stated that as crunch time comes, they readjust the teams to focus on getting the 360 version of a game done first. Primarily this is done because the installed base for the 360 is larger than the PS3, so it is a supply-demand decision. More 360s on the market means it gets the focus. If the PS3 starts to dominate, the tables will most likely turn.
It was nice to see some honesty in an answer from a game company. And I honestly thought we were going to read the same, “the PS3 is hard to develop for” argument. But it looks like it is just simple market economics.
