EA Motivates Sports Gamers to Get Current
Well, if you have been playing your copy of Madden 06 like I have because you have yet to see a reason to upgrade to another version of Madden with new rosters, you might want to think twice. Electronic Arts has stated that it is going to shut down the servers that run almost every sports 06 franchise as of September 1st, 2007. Normally, I understand cutting off access to a server when there is it has been out there for awhile, but in the 360′s case the game has been out for less than two years. And there has been no compelling reason to upgrade to Madden 07 or 08, or most of the other games on the list.
And if this list isn’t enough, there are a couple of Need for Speed games that will come up DOA as of November 1st, 2007, including Need for Speed Underground 2 for the PC, and Need for Speed Most Wanted for the PSP.
Thank you, EA, for telling us when to upgrade to a newer version of a title. Maybe if you mix in a few features in the new games we wouldn’t be so upset about announcements like this.
