Did EA Edit Its Wikipedia Entry

Shacknews has done some investigative reporting and found that an IP address belonging to Electronic Arts, had been in the EA entry on Wikipedia and had made several changes regarding founder Trip Hawkins, and the story of “ea_spouse”.
Using a tool called Wikipedia Scanner, Shacknews was able to track the anonymous entries on the EA Wiki back to an IP that belongs to Electronic Arts (anonymous postings will always come back to you, remember that kids). Comparing an older entry from the site, they noticed the complete removal of Trip Hawkins as a founder of the company and he was no longer in the “key people” section of the website. They also removed all mention of Trip’s business plan for the development of the company.
You would think that was bad enough, but it looks like the anonymous user came back a few months down the road and removed all mention of Trip’s name from the History section of the website, and added a few entries boasting the current chairman, Larry Probst. They also removed the entire section that mentioned “ea_spouse”, the wife of a programmer at EA Games that exposed the lack of overtime pay to the world. They also spun the lawsuit from that case into a positive light on the company’s behalf.
EA has had no comment on the story, but we will try to follow up for further information regarding this story.
