Bioshock Release Makes Steam Users Sizzle

Remember our earlier article about Bioshock being released on Steam for the earliest possible opportunity. Looks like that opportunity is not as soon as people thought. The countdown clock that is on Steam will end up at zero at 4:00 PM Eastern Time. So basically, you can’t play it before other will have time to run down to the store and buy it.
Gabe Newell, president of Valve, jumped into the fray to let everyone know that they have no control over release dates from third party companies, only their own. I have a feeling that enough will be made of this that the policy will change soon enough. Also, there is no telling how long it will take to validate through Steam to unlock these files. The last time a title of this magnatude hit Steam, the servers could not process validation requests fast enough, leaving some without access for days to a game they had already acquired.

hey Joe are you going to be getting Bioshock on the PC or the 360 and if the PC did you order it off steam??
I ordered the collectors edition on PC, so I will post my review from the PC side of the fence as soon as I finish it. It only that pesky thing called work would’t get in the way, I would pick it up in the morning, but I will not have it until 6PM. I am having my wife pick it up as soon as it comes in though. I will get some photos up of the Big Daddy figurine and all the other stuff that comes with it as well.
