Bashcraft’s 360 Dies
By Paul Munn | August 20, 2007

Brian Ashcraft is Kotaku’s Night Editor living in Japan, and he joins the growing ranks of famed bloggers whose 360 has died. He did see it coming, however, citing slowdowns and other unusual behavior ahead of its demise. We noted Brian Crecente’s ninth 360 dying recently. Bashcraft mentions that he is the third Kotaku editor to have their 360 croak on them.
On Saturday night, after playing the BioShock demo to death, I decided to fire up some Gears of War. I played for ten minutes and then it moved on from this world, leaving Red Rings of Death as a memento.
The turnaround time isn’t going to be that short, either. His call to the support number left him with a two to three week turnaround time due to the volume of machines to be repaired.
I hope he figures out a way to tell if his 360 comes back with the updates that keeps it from dying in the future. It would be nice to be able to see if the machines coming back out from the warranty repair service can dodge future trips in for service.
