Atari Classics Evolved Would Make Darwin Proud
The Namco Battle Collection for the PSP is a nice little set of classic games that include a number of Arrangement versions with modern twists. Things like a 3d Pac-Man game with mazes featuring elevator platforms and boss fights. A new collection is coming to the PSP called Atari Classics Evolved and it looks like it has evolved something important for a game on the PSP. It will feature online leaderboards for 11 of the “evolved” versions of Atari games on the UMD. That’s really icing on a pretty tall cake of 60 original Atari 2600 games on the UMD. That’s not a typo, that’s six with a zero after it folks — original Atari 2600 games.
Which ones will have evolved versions? That would be Asteroids, Asteroids Deluxe, Battlezone, Centipede, Lunar Lander, Millipede, Missile Command, Super Breakout, Tempest, Warlords and Pong. An evolved Pong? I need to see how they pull that off.
I’m glad someone knows where the Wi-Fi radio is in the handheld, unlike a certain other developer.
