1up Parent Company On Verge of Bankruptcy

Ziff Davis, the parent company of online site 1up.com, and magazine titles, Games for Windows and EGM, is having some financial issues that may take it into bankruptcy. Today, Ziff Davis skipped a monthly interest payment on its debt, and was starting early negotiations to try and restructure its $390 million in debt.
A former media giant that at its peak employed 1,200 people, is now down to just under 300 employees and has pared down its offline presence to just three magazines. They were the former owners of ZDNet, whcih became TechTV before it was bought out by G4 TV. They also had over a dozen magazines in the late 90′s.
