Walmart Lets the Price Cut Out of the Bag

In a Walmart ad that has no date, it shows the price of a Premium Xbox system at $349. The ad could be this week’s, but since I cannot read the date, I will just leave it as soon. The question to ask is whether this is a good price cut or were we expecting more to be trimmed from the price. While I wanted to see $100, $50 is a resonable point. The fact that this is happening right before Madden and Halo 3 come out, I have to wonder if they felt that with the price cut and those two games along with Grand Theft Auto IV would make for an even better buy.

Is the $50 price cut enough to satisfy gamers that have been olding on to their old Xbox systems, or PS2 systems. Maybe, but it will put more pressure on PS3 to plan their next move, because they will be back at their $599 price as soon as the old systems are sold. If Microsoft was throwing a game in as well, it would be no contest as to which console to pick.
