maybe in the grand scheme of things they really oughta be keeping the simple games to cheap Nintendo consoles & handhelds.

let the kiddies keep their their kiddie devices and us big people can play the mature games and then the govt can leave us alone with those silly ratings system.

Right, brent, because if you actually give your console very broad appeal through easy-to-understand games and heck maybe even a new type of controller, it won’t, say, sell incredibly well and make insane amounts of cash for you.

One of the reasons that I feel that the PS2 was such a great success was the striking balance between kids games and adult games. The original Xbox had the older crowd, but nothing for the kids, while the Gamecube had tons of kids game, but the adults found the pickings a bit thin.

Sony mastered the tightrope and had enough hits from both age groups to sell the console to every age group. The 360 is trying to emulate that success with the XBLA games and more easy to access kids games. I see nothing wrong with that strategy.

exactly. Everybody is already going to Nintendo and PS2 for the kiddie games. it’s too little too late for Microsoft unless they want to halfass it and come out with 3-4 kid games a year.

seeing that the majority of gamers are over 18 and spending enough money on games we dont need the kids to join in.

and how many games in the Wii catalogue do real gamers want to play for more than a long weekend besides Zelda?

there are enough adult gamers for Microsoft to make a profit without pandering to children.
