E3 hasn’t started yet and already the announcements are a-flyin’. Sega has announced with Microsoft that the Xbox 360 version of Virtua Fighter 5 will be released with online versus play via the Xbox Live service this Fall. Online play is a first for the series and currently exclusive to the Xbox 360.

Would Sega release a patch for VF5 for the PS3 to add this capability? Given how it’s basically a first-generation PS3 game and third-party developers were complaining about knowing little or nothing about using the PlayStation Store to extend their games at the time, I doubt it.
