Ten Things About Heavenly Sword

The Heavenly Sword demo should hit the PlayStation Store worldwide tomorrow, so in anticipation of the event here are ten things about the game you may not know.
(Written by bapenguin at Evil Avatar based on his E3 time with the title.)
10. The Sword in Heavenly Sword can actually be split into two pieces spanning 3 attack modes. This is changed via the R1/L1 buttons.
9. The chain form of the sword (ala God of War) is a lighter attack and helps take care of larger groups of enemies
8. The big form is used to dismantle heavily shielded foes
7. The default attack is the balanced form of this with two dagger like swords.
6. The game plays more like a fluid fighting game, with a lot of back and forth and counters.
5. Your character automatically blocks when not attacking. Blocking is then the basis for a pretty in depth counter system. Some of the counters require SIXAXIS motion.
4. The battles range from a handful of enemies up to 100 on the screen at once. There’s even a bit of strategy on how you can approach these scenarios.
3. Andy Serkis (Gollum, King Kong) did the motion capture for some of the characters in the game.
2. As you complete combos and perfect counters you’ll level up a special meter. Unleashing this specials can yield fantastic looking results. In one special attack I latched an enemy onto the end of the chains and swung him around into oncoming attackers.
1. This game is not God of War, even though it has many elements of the same genre. In fact, I would say that Heavenly Sword is more refined than God of War.
