Sony Figured That The European Market Would Be Annoyed by Price Cut
I ,for one, have never been annoyed by a price cut in the states, but it seems that Sony believes that our friends across the pond would be upset, nay, annoyed with a price cut.
David Reeves, CEO of Sony Europe, is on record with this reasoning for not extending the price cut to the European markets, “July is not really a gamers’ month unless you get a big, big title. So we thought if we reduced the price, we’d annoy a lot of people.” Call me crazy, but I think that annoyance is the last feeling that people would get regarding a price cut. I don’t get it. Why does Sony do this? Every time they make a step in the right direction, they proceed to shoot that foot that made the step.
A word of advice to our friends from Sony: don’t say anything. Just do what you need to do without saying a word. It would be the best thing you can do as horrible things are said when your executives speak.
