Some Fallout 3 Pictures from Bethesda Softworks

bethesdagamestudios_onwhite.jpgBethesda Softworks was nice enough to send over some photos from the game Fallout 3. The first two may not be new, but I believe the third was one that they were circulating around E3. While people seem to be worried about this game turning into an Oblivion mod, rest assured knowing that this game will not be an Oblivion type game. Check out some of the pictures before to see how the game is coming along.

Headshot.jpg
As you can see from this graphic headshot, two things are sure about Fallout 3. First off is that the over the top violence that has been found in the previous games is still here in part three. Secondly, it was noted by Bethesda that this meant that the Bloody Mess perk is back for all those players that loved the gruesome demise of their enemies. This game is shooting for an M rating and it is pulling no punches to get that rating.

Lucas_Simms.jpg
This screen shows off one of the NPCs that you will run into in the game. His name is Lucas Simms. No explanation of if he is good or bad, but the detail in the character shows the harsh realities of the post-apocalyptic wastelands in Fallout 3. It still does not answer my question of whether there will be a party system in the game, but I have sent that question to Bethesda to get an answer.

vault.jpg
Here is a picture of the Vault that your character has been inhabiting. This is the first time that we have looked at a Vault this close. The detail in the walls and other structures is amazing. It makes the Vault look more like a steel prison rather than a place that was designed to save you. It has a great retro 50′s vibe that has been a staple trademark of the series.

A press release from Bethesda also touts the following features available to players of the game:

KEY FEATURES:

  • Lord Blade

A sad sad day for Fallout fans everywhere. Confirmation of their fears from the start.
Bethesda has thrown out pretty much everything that made Fallout great, and has given us yet another generic bloody FPS game.
