Snake Has Something To Say In MGS4

The KP Report podcast from Konami isn’t too well known, and a little while ago I found an episode featuring an interview of David Hayter, the man behind Snake’s voice. Hayter delves into the history of his voice work on Metal Gear Solid and how Snake’s character has changed down through the games.

David and the host also joke around a bit about how to date, Snake usually is just asking short questions to draw out more information from others in the story, and Hayter mimics some of those lines: “Meryl? A Hind-D? A Submarine? Shadow Moses?” are all one-word or two-word questions Snake tends to ask all the time in the games to move the dialogue along. This time around, David says, Snake is aging badly, has seen a whole lot over time, and has something to say, wisdom to share with the other soldiers. He’s apparently enjoying the opportunity to contribute more to the conversation than in the past, even if doing the Old Snake voice is a bit harder on his own voice.

Check it out here.

That’s awesome. I was always struck by Snake’s voice and how he really never said a whole lot. Always took time out to hit on the ladies though.
