Project Gotham Racing 4 Hands On at E3
Bizzare Creations had a nice plasma screen all set up for us to play the latest build of Project Gotham Racing 4. The first thing that I noticed when the game started was the weather effects. Weather will play a prominent role for drivers in this game. Rain comes down and streaks over the car and splatters the screen. The streets get a slick glow from the light reflecting off the wet roadway. The time that Bizzare Creations has put into these weather effects is really paying off.
Car selection is just as great as it has been in the past with a few more classic cars added to the mix. And to all the Midnight Club and Test Drive Unlimited fans, Project Gotham finally has motorcycles. They are not considered the main focus of the game, but they had heard so many complaints about not having motorcycles that it was a no brainer to add them to the game.
The game keeps the focus of the game from last year, but adds a few more cities from what I understood. Also expect another collection of eclectic music that will play in the background. And as a random note, there is a decent damage model represented on the cars as you run into things. It does not completely destroy the car, but it does damage the aerodynamics of the vehicle.
Project Gotham Racing 4 comes to a store near you this Fall.
