Oblivion Game Of The Year Edition coming in September.
Joystiq carries word that a re-release of Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion is headed everyone’s way in September. This new retail release will be on the PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3 and will include the Knights of the Nine and Shivering Isles expansions. For those following along at home, the PS3 version of Oblivion already has the Knights of the Nine expansion included.
Two open questions: what will it cost, and will it have the official add-ons other than the expansions bundled in? The press release doesn’t seem to say the latter is in there, but perhaps the upgraded version will be able to link into purchased items from the PlayStation Store?
I’m really enjoying Oblivion on the PS3, primarily because the world is just massive and an open, take-it-at-my-own-pace adventure. Am I upset at this new version? Meh, not really. If I am able to take my saved games to this new version — which the press release says I will be able to — then by the time I exhaust what the original version has to offer I will have already begun a hunt for this new version at a bargain price.
