I think it is kind of sad that MGS4 has gotten more press related to its exclusivity rather then its merits as a game. Ever since the first trailer was shown, fanboys have been arguing about whether or not the game could be ported to the 360 at some point. Well, according to the guys and gals at OXM (Official Xbox Magazine), their

I always take information like this with a grain of salt. I sure would love to see MGS4 on the 360; I just don’t know if they really are working on a port.

One thing you do have to keep in mind is the fact that Sony (at E3) stated that it would be exclusive and this year, just like Unreal Tournament, which is obviously coming to the 360 just at a later time.

I don’t care one way or the other about the game-but i think it’s funnier than hell that PS3 is losing another ‘exclusive.’

    joy

No offense intended, but I think it’s folks like Brent that really keep these rumors going. People who have 360s and want to play it are waiting for the news, but they don’t have a reason to spread it, but the “lol, sony loses another exclusive” people are having a field day with it. For the talk they really don’t know either, they just like to say it like they do.

With MGS2: Substance on the Xbox, I could imagine the MGS4: Sub-whatever going to 360, but the MGS2 iteration on Xbox really got crap for sales and MGS3/Subsistence didn’t go to a MS console at all, so it’s hard to call that proof. There’s a chance, probably small, and I think it will only happen pretty far down the road when the revised game comes out, if it will happen at all.

But Trev this time the tables are turned. The 360 is the market leader in sales.

Given that the Sony press conference mentioned “MGS4 Guns Of the Patriots” specifically as exclusive, that leaves the door open to a new subtitled, new content added “MGS4 Xboxes Of the Patriots” version or something. Or maybe just the same online game the PS3 will get will go to Xbox 360 as well?

Anyway I expect the 360 to get something MGS4-flavored, but maybe not as soon as “a few months” after the PS3 version launches. Will a press release announcing the new version appear very soon after the MGS4 PS3 version is out? Why not.

The more platforms, the better for everyone. Multiplatform is the way to go for a blockbuster like this. Konami’s got to be really breaking the bank on this monster and the only way to make that up is to put it on every electronic device that you can hook a screen to.

Well, we’ve seen it happen before with MGS2 – Substance. Over a year later Xbox fans got to enjoy MGS 2 with a lackluster framerate. woohoo.

And did MGS3 Subsistance get released on Xbox? I want to say “no” but don’t remember for sure.

When it comes down to it, you have your game systems for reasons only you can answer. I broke down and bought the third one (Wii) a few weeks ago because of a game most people would be surprised by. Rayman Raving Rabids. There is no other way to play that game in my honest opinion. Also, RE4 was irresitible.

I bought my PS3 to play Resistance and get a Bluray player. (also for future titles. the biggest of which has already pledged multi platform( DMC4)) I have a 1080p TV and wanted to see it get used.

My 360 I bought to play Condemned, Dead Rising, Halo 3, etc, etc. (No HD-DVD for me. I already have invested enough in the new format war.)

So, everyone has their reasons. A short version of mine are there to view. I will be buying MGS4 on PS3. Why? Because it is the lead platform.

But when it comes down to HL2? I will be getting the Orange box on 360, because that’s what most of my friends have. Unless of course, it doesn’t port well to M$’s little white box.

(finally, lets ignore Kojima saying he is retiring from MGS games. I’ve heard him say that since the completion of the second one. He’s like a sports superstar. He says that, probably gets more money for the next time around.)
