MGS4 Publisher Mulls Exclusiveness of the Title
Kazumi Kitaue, European and North American President of Konami, Inc., mentioned that he is disenfranchised by the $100 price cut of the PlayStation 3. In his interview with Reuters, he mentions that for $500, “you can buy a computer.”
Near the end of the interview, Kitaue talked about not seeing enough of an installed base on Playstation 3 to justify the exclusiveness of the title. He stated that the game “was born for the PlayStation, we would like to keep it a PlayStation game… but we might have to take some steps.”
Now while Kitaue never flat out states that the game is coming to the 360 or any other platform, he is definitely warning Sony that they need to get more units sold if they want to keep Metal Gear Solid 4 a PS3 exclusive. It will be interesting to see what they have to say at E3 about these statements.
