Metal Gear Solid Portable Ops Plus Announced

Konami has announced an expansion for the hit PSP game Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops. The details aren’t clear yet, and there’s no North American date for the game yet even though the trailer you’ll see below is clearly in English. It’s slated for launch in Japan this fall and will retail alongside the original MGS:PO or packed-in with the game. This exciting trailer does give me some ideas about what they’re including. The Infinity Mission seems like a new set of single-player levels that will give random goals and targets to attain across various levels. The online modes shown looks like something similar to the Domination mode from Unreal Tournament, except you shoot the spinning star to claim it from the other team. The additional playable characters shown include the MGS2 Raiden, old Snake from MGS4, Campbell from MGS:PO, and others I don’t recognize.
Beginner Support mentioned in the trailer shows some interesting HUD items surrounding the players, making me wonder if they exist just to highlight where your enemies are or if they serve some other purpose in online play.
But in the end what this really means is that I have to start playing MGS:PO again. I haven’t made it far in the game and really need to dig in and finish it off before this shows up on store shelves.
