Gears of War PC to be Vista-only?

Submitted by on July 7, 2007 – 7:06 pm3 Comments

Gears for VistaI’m getting a vision. It’s a prediction that Gears of War for Windows will be announced this coming week and it just might be a Vista-only game! I’m so talented!

No no, I just noticed a leaked video of Gears of War using the Games for Windows Live system posted on VoodooExtreme.

UPDATE: I did have a link to the YouTube video here, but it was a rip of a GameVideos-watermarked video and they contacted us rather politely and asserted their copyright over it. They also asked that I not link to the site that was linking to it. Seriously, I’m not being sarcastic, they were very nice about it.

So it’s possible that Gears for Windows might not be Vista-exclusive if, and this is a big if, Microsoft decides it likes gamers and also announces Games For Windows Live for Windows XP. I know, I know, pigs would probably fly as well that day, but as a guy who doesn’t want to buy a whole new PC to struggle valiantly to run Vista to see what GFWL is all about, I can hope, can’t I?

Some new content there, that looks 100% new to me. I played through the campaign on all difficulties and never saw those cut scenes or boss battles.

yeah James. i agree with you. what footage was that taken from.

  • I know that we received the cease and desist letter from Game Videos, but I find it interesting that they have not had the video removed from You Tube. Why is that? Is it easier to go after us than You Tube.
