Folding@Home Folds?

Submitted by on July 4, 2007 – 2:04 pm2 Comments

Folding@Home folds. After a very successful 14.3 million point game of Super Stardust HD was complete, I decided to get started with my day and leave my PS3 folding for the rest of the holiday. Unfortunately, the system couldn’t connect to the Folding@home servers. Checking the statistics via the PS3 interface brought me to the message above, citing too many connections to their servers.

Is anyone else experiencing this error on their PS3 or PC? It seems that either the Folding@home service is down for the US holiday, they have indeed reached too many connected clients, or there’s a connection problem with my system. This is pretty unfortunate, not because I can’t improve my folding stats but that I can’t donate my processing power (and electric bill) to the scientific community when I remember to do so.

Okay I’m just about over it; did I mention 14.3 million points in Super Stardust HD?

**UPDATE** About 40 minutes later, the system was up and running.

You and your 14.3m points. Quite a jump over your score of 6.6m from yesterday. And I thought I’d caught up with 6.0m.

I know you can beat my score again if you work at it, but I did pull off a 46 million point score in Super Stardust HD last night, roughly number 326 on the worldwide leaderboard.
