Far Cry 2 Coming From Ubisoft
By Joe Haygood | July 19, 2007
Ubisoft may not have a publishing deal with Crytek any more, but they still own the rights to the Far Cry franchise. They also made quite a bit of money off of the Far Cry franchise. And with Uwe Boll making a film based on the Far Cry license, it was no surprise that Ubisoft announced their plans to make Far Cry 2. Actually scratch that Uwe Boll thing, because I am sure they would rather not be associated with him at this point.
Ubisoft Montreal, developers of several hit Ubisoft titles, are in charge of this title. No word on a console version of the game, but you have to figure that in today’s marketplace, it is a no-brainer that a 360 and a possible PS3 and Wii version are on the way.
Look for the game to come out in the Spring of 2008, but for now, you can look at the game’s teaser site that does not really offer all that much yet.
