Defining the DE-LUXE Game Room!

Deluxe_Tekken_6_410.jpgI don’t know if you have a game room in your home. When I think of a game room, I visualize a room with a pool table, dart board, maybe some foosball action rockin’ in the corner. Add a dash of a Galaga cocktail table and bingo, the classic American game room is born.

Just because I envision a game room that way doesn’t mean that’s how I’d want my game room to be constructed. If I could build one today and cost wasn’t a factor, the $35,000 Tekken 6 Deluxe Arcade Cabinet shown above would be the showpiece of my collection. That beast has FOUR 42″ HD monitors, two Tekken 6 boards and four total game stations. I could buy a not-so reasonably priced, mid-sized, luxury sedan with cloth interior for that kind of scratch!

Oh no, of course I’ll never see this deluxe cabinet in my lifetime. If I did however, I can absolutely guarantee just a little pee would come out. What would your all-expense paid game room include?

The most important part to me would be the variety of systems. I would want a huge screen with every console hooked to it (not particularly possible I imagine) and conveniently tucked away where nobody could see. Imagine sliding out a tray, popping in a disc or cartridge, and closing it away so you can sit back in a recliner and play using a custom-built universal arcade stick. A couple of rows of movie theater seats would be nice too.

I don’t think arcade cabinets would be necessary with everything important available on console discs for the past two generations.
