D&D Tactics in Need of a Little Love

*yawn*The PSP is enjoying its highest level of popularity since launch day, recent price cut, games selling well, there’s even a new version rolling down the pipe in a couple months. Yep, things are pretty good for the 2nd best handheld.

This is why it was so surprising to read a story about an upcoming top-notch PSP release getting the shun from its fanbase. The Atari-developed D&D Tactics will ship August 14th and as a little gift to their excited UK fan base, Atari planned a small party for some lucky fans to play the game prior to its release. The original plan was to allow 10 players who could be in London on the 27th of July to visit and play the game with Atari.

Unfortunately, 15 days after the event was posted on the Atari forums, only four people from their forums responded. Atari was forced to call off the event and the comment from Atari

    That’s pretty sad. I would’ve thought D&D would have a pretty largish fan-base. And just being able to go to a pre-launch game thingamajig would’ve been cool!

    It might be because in the UK, it’s not called Dungeons & Dragons, it’s called Lorries & Bumbershoots.
