Uwe Boll Claims Postal a Masterpiece at Cannes

Submitted by Joe Haygood on June 30, 2007 – 1:24 amComments

mediapostalmovie.jpgGaming’s favorite movie director has been busy, putting together his latest project, Postal. Yes, the gaming classic Postal has been turned into a film by Uwe Boll. While this is not new news, the latest comments from Boll are new and pretty outrageous.

Boll was interviewed recently and said that Postal was not only his best film, it may be, “the best movie of all time”. He also went on to talk about how Postal received the longest standing ovation in the history of the festival. I don’t know what to make of this exactly. The trailers have been leaked onto YouTube for a couple of months and it does look somewhat funny. And it has captured the essence of the game in a big way. But it is a Boll film, and I have been disappointed by him so many times in the past.

House of the Dead, Alone in the Dark, Bloodrayne (how the hell do you screw this up) and even the dailies on Dungeon Siege. All films that he has directed that have turned out to be a steaming pile of something. I hope this movie is good, because I would like to see a video game property finally get a good movie treatment. But the cynic in me just keeps reciting the words, “Uwe Boll directed it”, over and over.

I don't even think Uwe Boll exists. I think he's just a sick joke some internet and movie bloggers invented for some cheap laughs.

nobody but nobody could be this consistently incompetent for this long. even Conrad Janis showed a modicum of talent during an occasional episode of Mork and Mindy.
