Ridley music from Smash Bros Dojo disappoints, excites!

I was shocked and excited to see the Ridley theme would be making an appearance in Smash Bros Brawl for some reason (could Ridley be a playable character? He’s the only character who appeared in the opening movie for Melee who wasn’t in the game… see him around the 0:25 mark in the video embedded below) but when I hit play, I was pretty disappointed. The hard, synthetic sound we heard in Metroid Prime has given way to a more organic one, perhaps even recorded with real instruments. While I have a great appreciation for real instruments in game music, I’m not sure this was the right sound for this song. Perhaps it will grow on me.
Ridley is the head of the army of insectlike Space Pirates that Samus Aran continues to be a problem for in the Metroid series. He’s pretty much a large, spindly dragonlike creature, and he tends to be red. Sometimes blue. He appears in Metroid Prime in a cybernetically enhanced form called Meta Ridley (presumably because Samus kicked his ass all over the place in Metroid) but then appears again intact in Super Metroid. He’s also in Prime 3, but the footage is so poor I can’t tell if he’s still all cybernetic-like. His appearance in Metroid Fusion as far as I recall is limited to a frozen carcass, or perhaps an ice sculpture.
Wait, what? Ridley could be a playable fighter in Brawl?? That would be awesome!
