Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition hits US shelves.
The Wii port of the Gamecube and PS2 smash Resident Evil 4 has arrived on US shelves. The official release date was Tuesday, but that really means most saw it yesterday. The Wii port is effectively an exact port of the Gamecube version with slight modifications to suit the new console. The controls have been customized for the new controller and a true widescreen mode, as in the PS2 version, has been added. Also, the additional content (new missions, new costumes, etc) from the PS2 version are in the Wii version. All in all, the definitive version of one of the greatest games of all time for a mere $30 brand new.
Did anyone pick it up on launch day? Are you planning to pick it up at all? I played through the Cube version and there’s far to much else to occupy me to buy another copy right now. Maybe when it hits a bargain bin.

I was at wal-mart last night and passed through the game section (as usual), but didn’t see it on the shelf. I was surprised to see a couple more Wiis behind the glass though. I’ll probably pick this up at $19.99.
I tried playing ths game on the PS2 but I hated the controls so I gave up on it. Maybe with better controls I will pick it up.
Looks like we may be getting this after all. My wife wants it (she never got around to playing it on the Cube) and when I told her it’s only $30, her eyes lit up.
