NoA Sales & Marketing staff quits

Submitted by on June 6, 2007 – 10:46 pm3 Comments

noa.jpgAccording to Game Informer, Perrin Kaplan, Beth Llewelyn, and George Harrison are all leaving Nintendo rather than transfer to New York or San Francisco.

Their official titles are as follows: Beth Llewelyn is Senior Director of Public Relations, Perrin Kaplan is Vice President of Marketing and Corporate Affairs, and George Harrison is Senior Vice President of Marketing and Corporate Communications.

This leaves a pretty big hole in Nintendo’s marketing department – only Reggie Fils-Aime and CEO Tatsumi Kimishima are left as top execs. It’s unknown when, or whether, the three departing executives’ jobs will be filled.

Wow, that’s pretty shocking. I was really used to Perrin Kaplan despite the occasional misstep. It’s surprising that so much of the marketing staff (the article says as much as 90%!) chose to leave rather than relocate. It makes me wonder if there’s more behind this move than we’re hearing.

Intriguing. I wonder how this might change their marketing strategy, if at all.

Shoot, I was hoping to go over to their houses for the upcoming garage sales.
