The Dead or Alive movie finally graced 505 movie screens across the US. The total take for the weekend: $232,000. That’s right, the movie over three days made $232,000. That averages out to about $460 per screen for the weekend. That showing is absolutely pathetic and continues the trend of horrible video game movie translations.

I have watched an import of the movie from Europe and I have to say that the movie is horrible. It captures all the elements, but just executes them so poorly, that you have to wonder what kind of drugs Corey Yuen was smoking while making this film. Needless to say, this movie will probably do gangbusters on DVD when it hits the streets, September 21st.

I knew the box office on this wasnt gonna be good when the only other people in the theatre besides me was a couple of dirty old men in trenchcoats and Pee Wee Herman.

And the producers only have themselves to blame. Maybe there was plenty of giggle in the games but they got undersized women to play the roles. Only Russ Meyers coulda directed this movie and made it good.

I think the theaters should have seen this coming. Anyone who wanted to see this movie, did so way back when the first release hit. It was a really bad movie and doesn’t deserve money. It was worse than the original Street Fighter movie.
