Wii friend codes tied to Miis?

Submitted by on May 30, 2007 – 3:01 pm5 Comments

mii.jpgNow this is good news… according to the Mario Strikers producer, friend codes are not game-specific but rather Mii-specific.

“‘Each Mii created generates a Mii code that never changes. This code will thus be used for all other online games in the future,’ comments Dowsedell. And with each Wii console holding up to 100 Miis, there are one trillion possible 12-digit friend codes, leaving plenty of possible Friend Code combinations up for grabs.”

This may solve our complaints about the Friend Code system, at least for the Wii.

First: is Mii pronounced Me or My?

and second: I got an Xbox 360 and still haven’t figured out how to get a Mii guy.

please, if someone could help me I’d appreciate it.

There seems to be a bit of a dispute about this guys meaning. Several updates on joystiq seem to point that he meant “online games” in the Strikers specific sense of other matches within strikers. We’ll see soon enough I guess.

XAQ!, get back in your cage.

Brent, Mii is pronounced like “me,” even though it’s spelled like it’s “my.” It’s called a Mii as a tie-in to Wii, which is also pronouced “we,” and that’s the only system that uses them, so you don’t have access to them on your 360.

Take heart though, since you have a 360 you have a fully mature online gaming system available to you, provided you’re willing to pay for Xbox Live.
