Thompson Wants Wendy’s Wii Promotion Ended

Submitted by on May 9, 2007 – 12:38 am2 Comments

thumb_070508_thompson_01.jpgSeems that Jack Thompson has another gaming crusade on his hands, and this time it includes a rather strange target.

Wendy’s currently has a promotion running around the Wii console and Wendy’s Kids Meals. The Kids Meals will have toys based on Wii themed titles like Excite Truck and Wii Sports. But Jack Thompson feels that since the game Manhunt 2 will be released on the Wii, that Wendy’s should want no part of this promotion.

Am I the only one that finds this ridiculous? Because a violent game that cannot be played by any child buying a Kids Meal is coming to the Wii, that Wendy’s should cut a promotion and lose out on all the money that they have invested in this campaign? Jack just needs to hang it up. His arguments are getting old and tired and no one wants to listen to him anymore. I plan to buy several Kids Meals at Wendy’s during this promotion just to show my support for Wendy’s.

And Disney is announcing that they are pulling their support from the DVD format since pornography is available on that medium. They are also pulling all of their movies from movie theaters since R rated movies were shown in those theaters at some point. All of their material will now only be available in braile.

Bleh. F’ that guy. He probably thinks computers are evil too.

Right. Shouldn’t he be getting angry at everyone because E10 rated games are coming out, too? I mean, obviously those are not appropriate for nine-year-olds. And there’s a chance those games will fall into the hands of our poor unsuspecting children.

No, this is only about Rockstar games. His personal vendetta is completely transparent to everyone involved. It’s about time he got on Rockstar’s payroll for all the attention he brings to their games.

Better yet, it’s time we declared Aeropause a Thompson-free zone. He’s irrelevant and it’s time he got ignored by the press. We’ve made him, let’s unmake him.
