Sony Posting Biggest Loss in Four Years

Bloomberg.com has a story stating that the fourth quarter losses at Sony have widened to $630 million. Most of the loss comes from the underperforming Playstation 3 console. The gaming division alone will report a loss of over one billion dollars for the fiscal year, with almost half of that coming in the fourth quarter.
Analysts feel that the PS3 will get within 5% of the cost of making the device at the current price by the end of the next fiscal year, but if there is a price cut on the console, the losses will be even deeper next year. Currently the numbers show that the movie and camera divisions of Sony helped cushion the fall quite a bit, but they will need sales to pick up soon to stop the huge losses.
