Microsoft To Unveil New Device

Submitted by on May 29, 2007 – 6:56 pm5 Comments

ms-building.jpgThe guys over at Gizmodo got an email from Microsoft stating that at midnight tonight they will unveil a new piece of hardware that will “change the way people interact with technology”. The device was developed by Microsoft’s entertainment devices division, and so far the speculations range from an iPhone killer to the often hinted at Xboy. When I hear the device described I tend to think that it will have nothing to do with gaming, but then again you just never know what Bill has up his sleeves.

I would be ecstatic to see some kind of new gaming device but I am not going to get my hopes up only to be crushed with despair come midnight tonight. Let us know what you think this new device might be. My personal guess is that it’s a mind control device that will enslave us all!

I say it’s a watch that senses your heart rate and what you are currently playing on your 360 in order to set prices for downloadble content. Expect Halo 3 maps to be priced higher than expected.

I’ve heard rumors about a touch sensitive table thingy, which would be cool.

But I’d love to see an Xboy.

It’s a touch-sensitive “Microsoft Smart Surface” or some such nonsense. It was demoed at CES during Gates’ keynote.
