MGS4 – Another exclusive lost?

Since this console generation began there have been rumors and more rumors about the possibility of MGS4 coming to the 360. Well according to our friends over at Destructoid the rumors have finally come true. According to their deep undercover sources Microsoft has been working diligently with Konami to work out a deal to get MGS4 on the 360. They also state the 360 version will have some exclusive content. Many people on the net still feel that this might not be true, but Ron Workman (Destructiod Writer) is standing by his words and insists that he has the assurance of his sources that this is indeed true.

With games jumping ship left and right, MGS4 was one of the big exclusive games that Sony could still rub in Microsoft’s face. Could this be the last nail in the PS3′s coffin…probably not, but it’s not good news for Sony.

    It’s a fake. The test of the article was take verbatime from an IGN insider preview of substance for the xbox. All they did was change the names.

    I’d love MGS4 on the 360 as much as anyone. It would save me 700 canadian dollars, and finally put the kibosh on all those “Duurrr, blu ray is needed for sound! Durrrrr” comments that flood the internet these days. And also to watch a couple million fanboys take their own lives in anguish. But this is not proof.

    It’s interesting seeing all these games go multiplatform. I see it as much better for the gamer than it is bad for the manufacturer of the platform. Square-Enix really has the idea, developing lots of stuff that plays to the strengths of each platform.

    I don’t know if Ron’s source is legit or not, but I’ve been waiting to hear this confirmed for some time. MS has the money to buy this exclusive and they would be stupid not to. They got MGS before, they’ll get it again. It’s not like the PS3 is flying off the shelves you know. Konami needs to justify their costs and the install base of the PS3 won’t do it for quite some time.

    I found it interesting that Workman also mentioned an MGS for Wii in the same post. Also, Ron tends to drink I hear.

    Well if you think of it, it wouldn’t be the first time Microsoft is working with Konami… in a MGS port…

    But I doubt it anyway. Sony couldn’t be possibly stupid enough to let something like MGS slip by.

    And for those not used to PR/media-smoothed talk, “work out a deal” is not even close to “confirmed”, and coming from such a reputable source as a “rumour on a independent blog” you can only take it more seriously than most fanboy rant. Not by much though.

    On October 15th a lot of people are going to realize forr $600 they can either buy a PS3 or get an XBOX360 AND GTAIV, HALO3 and a year of Xbox Live.

    As for this actual article, MGS4 is a PS3 exclusive, it has been announced time and time over, and for this rumour, if it is multiplatform, why haven’t they announced anything about it?
