While I was staring unblinkingly at the Smash Bros Dojo site (which still hasn’t changed) and watching the last two episodes of Heroes for the season (what a lousy ending, am I right?) I missed the fact that Nintendo dumped out a pile of release dates, including my most anticipated Wii title, Metroid Prime 3! August 20th! Of this year!! Must… purchase!

So much for my prediction that it would slide to 2008. Didn’t do that. I wasn’t complaining either, because hey, if it never arrives, it will keep getting better and better until it will be too good to play. It will be like the gaming equivalent of those cakes from Food Network Challenge that are like, six feet tall and made of huge razor-edged shards of sugar glass. You can’t eat those, you’ll die.

Also in August comes Heroes of Mana, the really cool looking strategy game from Square-Enix. That’s on the 14th. Nothing else on the list I really care for, actually. But that’s OK, I’ve got several games that came out the past few months on both platforms that I still need to play. If I ever finish Zelda.

Kim Phu at Kotaku tipped me off. Nintendo’s not talking to me right now apparently because of that whoopie cushion thing. Seriously, get a sense of humor, Farty Pants.
