In South Korea, Size Matters

South-Korean-flag.jpgThe rumored 80gb PS3 will indeed hit retail. On June 16th, a new SKU, 80gb PS3 will hit the South Korea at a slightly discounted price tag of US$557. Sony is betting that the extra hard drive space will entice the broadband-happy South Koreans to take a chance on their black beauty.

Does this discounted price signal a possible price cut for the PS3 across all regions? I doubt it, especially considering the fluctuating prices across Asia for the console. Even so, hopeful PS3 owners can at least dream about saving a few pennies though.
