Hold your credit card, Final Fantasy IV coming to DS.

Anyone who picked up Final Fantasy IV Advance in early 2005 when it launched might be gritting their teeth right now. I mean, I know I am. Back then we were starving for news on Final Fantasy III for DS, but when that came out and was the smash hit we all knew it would be (Square-Enix apparently didn’t think it would be, as the game was originally planned for PS2 and only Nintendo’s begging got it underway before the launch of the DS) Square-Enix predictably mentioned that other titles were being considered for the treatment. Naively, I hoped they meant they would cancel Final Fantasy VI Advance (which wasn’t out yet) and put that on the DS, but no. It’s the official website for Final Fantasy IV DS, and images are in Shonen Jump.

Looks like it’s time for some housekeeping. Needless to say I won’t be buying any more GBA Final Fantasies.

First you come out against print publications (well, OK, you wrote this first but I read it second) and now you prefer 3D remakes to the SNES original Final Fantasies IV-VI… I don’t think we see eye to eye much, man. But you’ve prompted me to write about my preference for the old graphics, at least.
