I really liked last year’s DBZ game, Dragon Ball Z: Burst Limit 2. It felt like the franchise had finally achieved some serious attention with a game that was both deep and fun.
This year, we …

Get Her Into The DS And You’re Next

pink_nintendo_ds.pngDavid Carnoy over at CNet has a column up where he anecdotally discusses the success of the Nintendo DS with women. The PSP doesn’t fare as well with the ladies, he says, and he cites women noticing the system in ads or otherwise and talking to their gamer boyfriends/spouses about it. Here’s where it gets tricky.

Gamers with non-gamer significant others know the story full well. The goal of a gamer is to play more games. With a non-gamer significant other (S.O.), you have an uphill battle making any gaming-related purchase. The solution is, of course, to turn your non-gamer S.O. into a gamer, which opens the doors to her (or him) approving of game software and hardware purchases you both can enjoy.

The curveball here that David brings up is that if you’re angling to pick up a PSP, and your S.O. wants to see what the DS is all about, getting her a DS means at least at first you’ll be sharing the system together. Of course sharing leads to custody battles, and a complete willingness on her part to let you pick up a second DS because after all then you can play *together* instead of taking turns. Before you know it you have two DS’s, maybe more if she decides colors are important enough to warrant a new one, and you have an even slimmer chance of convincing her that a third handheld gaming system is needed between the two of you to play games she still doesn’t like.

I suppose all of this pales in comparison to the real danger of getting your spouse into games — the danger of her getting so addicted that she doesn’t pick up the slack caused by your own existing addiction to games. I mean, that’s what I’ve heard, anyway.

My girlfriend had some interest in the DS mainly because she loves pink. I hooked her on Bomber Man ’93 on the Wii virtual console and told her we could play anywhere if she had a DS. She bought it! Now she is 100% hooked on games like many women were when they were kids. She has blasted through the Kirby games and Princess Peach.

    Recently I bought her Pok?

My wife bought me a DS for my bday a couple months ago. She can’t put down Club House Games. I added an R4 flash card to it and now I can’t put it down between reading ebooks on and playing games without having to put another cart in is great. I’m really hooked on Pokemon Pearl to. I would get a DS just for that now.

Its true that women are also addicted for Nintendo DS. It could be fun when they have made challenge with their boyfriend's. Now Nintendo DS is phenomena piece of technology and every age person does know about its story.
