Gameover: Thanks Be To Mom Edition
We’re already at the middle of May, with allergy season hitting pollinated peaks in the northeast. I hope everyone out there was able to say thank you to their dear mother one way or another this weekend. I celebrated Saturday night with my mother, and spent Sunday day and evening catering to the mother of my children as best I could so I didn’t get much gaming in this weekend. Instead, I had a bit of time to reflect on just how as gamers we have even more to be thankful to our parents for than others do.
Many of us started gaming when we were young. A mother or father was able to look the other way long enough to decide that a computer or a game console was allowed to be purchased and brought into the house. Moms and dads everywhere braved the incessant fighting between siblings for time on such a machine. Those moms and dads worked hard to pry us off of the darned thing and send us out to play.
So here’s to the moms out there who let us play a little at a time on our favorite game, made us do our homework first, and even sent us to our rooms those times we tried not to share. We’re all better for it. Thanks mom!
