Blacksite: Area 51 – Demo Impressions
The demo for Blacksite: Area 51 is quite a hit and miss affair. There are some very impressive graphics and yet some average art design. There are very creepy looking aliens, but rather lame weapons to shoot them with. Then there is the framerate, which I hope is number 1 on their to-do list of things to fix. During intense fights the game chugged to single digit framrates and seemed to stutter slightly even when nothing was happening…not cool!
The game plays like and standard FPS, except you have controls slightly similar to R6V. You will order your crew around to open doors and clear rooms of alien inhabitation. These controls work well and help make the game a little deeper, but not that deep.
I would have more to say but you can play through the demo in about 5 minutes so there really is not much more to go over.That said the pace and action of the game did seem fairly fun and while the demo did not convince me to buy the game I will give it a rent.
