You rarely hear good news about the PS3. There are a bunch of nifty features hidden in the crannies of the XMB waiting to be found. One such feature is the Chat option. The PS3 allows six people to chat in a room with any combination of video and/or audio, dynamically allowing you to customize the audio settings and input device as you chat.

I’ve been using my worthless old Eye Toy as a rudimentary PS3 cam but last night, while Paul and Twitch rambled on about God of War 2, I decided to plug in my Vision Cam and zing, it worked! The picture is crisper than the Eye Toy (as you can see on the far left) but runs at a slower frame rate. Considering the Vision Cam is just about as worthless as the Eye Toy, I might as well use that from now on.

If you’re wondering why we were sitting around shooting the breeze, well that’s because for some reason we couldn’t get all three of us in an online game of Marvel Ultimate Alliance. Something wonky was up with Gamespy’s servers. Quite annoying.
