Target clearing out lots of gamer goodness.

cash-register.pngA trip to Target today became a field day for me, snapping pictures and buying cheap gaming-related swag right and left. It must have looked like corporate espionage to the passers-by. Here are some of my finds in the clearance section for your review.

pacmansocks.png

Pac-Man socks by Planet Sox, $1.00. My wife spotted these and we picked up two pair. Turns out that makes it easier to get a complete picture. You’ve got Pac-Man, being pursued by Blinky, Pinky, and Inky, who are collectively exclaiming, “LUNCHTIME.” Charming, really.

Mad Catz Travel Pack for PSP, $20. Normally $50. Didn’t realize how much of a deal that was at the time. Maybe I’ve got the price wrong. Don’t have a PSP myself, but some of my fellow writers here do. Sorry, the pic on my camera phone is too blurry to show, you’ll have to settle for the one on the website.

Mad Catz PSP Stealth Case, $12. Normally $20. Pretty stupid name, but it certainly looks durable. Comes with a stand for the PSP… I never did understand how something like that could be useful, but then again I never wished for a one-handed controller to play Dead or Alive Extreme Beach Volleyball.

madcatz-systemlink.png

MadCatz Gamecube Platform Link cable, $7. Normally $10. This looks like a modified edition of the first Gamecube to GBA link cable I owned, which was also a Mad Catz. When the SP came out it turned out they’d built it too wide to fit on the back of the redesigned system, as it pushed in the L and R buttons when attached. This appears to have a second cable on it, but it’s not clear if that’s for the Micro or just so it can work on your SP. Not sure why they’d put both on there when just the cable would do the trick. Near the bottom of the photo it looks like they’re showing two systems hooked on, a GBA and an SP. Maybe no Micro then. Didn’t think the Micro had that functionality anymore.

memory-card-w-holder.png

Memory Card and Holder for Wii by Switch N Carry, $12. Not sure what it cost before, it seems to be discontinued. It’s a 256MB SD card with a light blue case. To hold the SD card. Really. Not much of a deal when for less money you can get a name brand SD card with higher capacity.

TSZ Xbox 360 Wireless Controller by Pelican, $25. A cheap alternative to the first-party controller, doesn’t seem to review badly. Doesn’t appear on the official site as far as I can see, so I’m guessing it’s discontinued as well.

There was a pretty large assortment of items at clearance prices in the electronics department. Among the other items was a third party memory unit for the 360, it was dark green, 64MB. Didn’t catch the price on that one, can’t figure out what it was online by glancing around. Anyone have one of those?
