NeoGeo on VC this summer, Corruption news imminent.
While listening to the latest “Wii-k in Review” podcast from IGN (Dated 20 April) today, I heard the editors say that SNK told them we’d see NeoGeo games on the Virtual Console this summer at about the 28:00 point. Mark Bozon spoke of an interview he had with the president of SNK Playmore (apparently not this one, which doesn’t seem to have the same content he mentions in the podcast).
Mark: He said, you know, summer’s when we’re getting NeoGeo. We’re getting NeoGeo on Virtual Console, so all NeoGeo games are coming. My call is Samurai Shodown and Magician Lord will be the first two, ’cause he’s not going to do… they’re not going to do King of Fighters right away because they’re making a King of Fighters compilation that’s coming out on PS2, which he kind of hinted might be coming to Wii. Same with the Fatal Fury one. So those ones are both going to be ported to Wii, or just be on PS2.
Later, Matt Cassamasina took great care to stumble out the piece of not-exactly-news that more information on Metroid Prime 3: Corruption was coming shortly. He himself didn’t seem to know what the news was, only that it was coming. This part starts at around the 47:45 point in the podcast.
Matt: Well, I do have some cool news. Kind of. Let me just… (crumples paper) I just blew somebody’s speaker. So it turns out there’s a little game called Metroid Prime 3, you may have heard about it, and uh, we’re hearing… kind of… we might have heard that there’s going to be a lot more news on that game in the near future. Possibly much sooner than anybody thinks.
Peer: What kind of crap news is that?
Jess: Yeah, that is terrible news.
Peer: “Hey everybody, I’ve got some news for you, there’s going to be news!”
Jess: “We’ve got some news: some news is coming your way!”
Matt: Have you ever heard the Eddie Murphy joke? When you’re starving, and somebody throws you a Saltine, it’s delicious. You devour that thing.
Peer: Well, thanks for that cracker, man.
Indeed, this is said delicious Saltine. Those of us who love the franchise truly are starving for information.
