Mortal Kombat II on PS3 With Online Play Coming 4/12.
The first Midway game in the lot of 6 slated to reach the PlayStation Store will hit this Thursday the 12th, and it’s Mortal Kombat II featuring online play, leaderboards, and a bargain price. I just got finished writing about how online play is probably too hard of a thing to do in a fighting game in the thread about Super Smash Brothers Melee Whatever coming to the Wii at some point, and here’s Mortal Kombat II trying to be the one to get it right. There’s no mention on whether a demo will also be available.
The game will be a very cheap $4.99, and will have 12 playable characters and 10 levels to play them on. It’s most decidedly rated M for Mature, and in addition to the gory fatalities that were the series controversial hallmark back in the day, it also has “babalities” that turn your opponent into a baby and friendship moves. No, I’m not making that up, it says so right in the Gamespot article.
