Monster Madness: Battle for Suburbia Impressions

monster_madness.JPGThe Major writes to let us know that a demo for the upcoming 4-player, top-down, cooperative shooter Monster Madness is on the Marketplace. This one’s available for Gold Xbox Live members in all regions, so everyone can join in on the preview.

This game peaked my interest after the early screenies and now that I’ve played the demo, that interest hasn’t wavered. The gameplay is very chaotic and once I got a handle on the controls, it was really entertaining. South Peak calls the game a top-down shooter and while there are traditional weapons in the game, there are also what seems to be hundreds of objects to use as an emergency bludgeon.

I really like what I see here so far and I’m looking forward to giving it a spin after it’s release in May. The demo has offline and online game modes with four characters to choose from. The offline mode has only one scenario to play through while the online mode has two maps and gametypes to select, CTF and Deathmatch. I don’t see myself going crazy for the competitive online multiplayer, but the cooperative looks like a blast.
