In an unprecidented move by both Sony and Microsoft, games on both consoles will now have to download final bosses from their respective marketplace.

Microsoft, when asked for comment, responded to the outraged public community, stating, “While all gamers will at first feel stung by this decision, they will come to understand the value that this proposition has for then. Most gamers do not finish their games and really won’t miss out on the end battle, but for those that do, 800 points is a small price to pay to get a boss with extra costumes and a gamer picture pack.”

Sony had a different explaination. A Sony Representative said, “While most people feel that final boss battles should be free, we at Sony realize that most of our console owners are paying for potential. So we have given them the potential to buy boss battles. Besides, we need to make a profit somehow.”

Gamers on numerous forums were at a loss for words, but there was at least one forumite that had good things to say about this. A poster by the name of Gill Bates said, “Why would anyone not want to do what Microsoft says. If they say it is good, then it must be.”

We will follow this breaking story as it unfolds. To read more about the story, check out the the statement from Sony and Microsoft. Hopefully, we will know more by April 2nd.

It got me at first, too. I think thats kinda sad, actually, that I would believe this at all, even for only a few seconds. I guess I don’t have much faith in the handling of microtransactions.
