Mario Strikers Charged to feature online multiplayer.

soccer-ball.pngIt’s come to light today that the upcoming sequel to Super Mario Strikers will feature ranked and unranked online play. It is to feature three of the online play matching systems that were seen in Mario Kart DS, which includes one that matches you with people you’ve exchanged friend codes with, and two that are random and do not use said much-maligned friend code system. As I said, much like in Mario Kart DS.

The information comes from an interview with Charged director Mike Inglehart in a German gaming mag called N-Zone.

Online play doesn’t make playing a soccer/football videogame more appealing to me. Any of you into this? Anyone play the original?

I really enjoyed the first one but only got to play it at a friends because I haven’t bought it yet. I was planning to until they announced charged so now I’m waiting for that. Online is not a BIG draw for me on this title, but I will likely use it if available. I know my same buddy will own this one as well and it would be cool to play against him online. Online may not make or break this or any game but it sure is nice to have it. I’m excited about this.
