Jaffe – “I would have left out the Blu Ray Drive”

If there is one thing that we know about David Jaffe, it is that he is always willing to speak his mind and he did so recently during an interview with GameTrailers.com. During the second half of an interview for Geoff Keighly’s Bonus Round, Jaffe was asked about the PS3 and what he would have done differently with the device. Jaffe replied by saying, “I probably would have taken the Blu-ray out and sold it for less money.”
While at first, this does not seem like a big thing, you have to look at the person making the statement. An employee of Sony, stating that the future of the entertainment division, does not need a Blu-Ray drive. Something that every other Sony rep and executive has defended to this point in time. One has to wonder how long it takes SCEA to come out with a rebuttal statement.
