Guitar Hero II DLC Gives The Live Concert Experience

Submitted by on April 12, 2007 – 9:00 am3 Comments

ghII.pngNew song packs have already hit the Xbox Live Marketplace for Guitar Hero II, and it’s giving everyone part of the live concert experience — the part where you pay large sums of money to get into the show.

There are three song packs up for sale, and each of those has three songs in it. You get to pay $6.25 for three songs that incidentally are all available in earlier versions of Guitar Hero that came out on the PlayStation 2. Of course you can’t transfer them over from the ol’ PS2, so I’m sure die-hards will want to play them again on the Xbox 360 and will cough up whatever it takes. Enjoy!

Xbox Live Arcade is where games such as Geometry Wars are released. The Guitar Hero II songs have been released on the Xbox Live Marketplace.

Thanks zam, I’ve corrected that in the story. I mix that up every so often.

In other news, I noticed Major Nelson’s comment on the user revulsion on the pricing and it’s just a classic example of this guy talking out of both sides of his mouth at the same time.

The joystiq link below shows him simultaneously trying defending the pricing with talk about music licensing, testing, and then oops at the very end he says he’s NOT trying to defend it. Ok there Nelson, thanks for being a marketdroid, spewing out the party line and then distancing yourself from the party line you’re charged with spewing out so you seem like you’re one of the regular guy gamers.

For the kids watching at home, this is when you know somebody who appears to be in authority has absolutely no value to add to a conversation. Is he running for President?

Hearing garbage like this is supposed to be better than saying nothing and having people just dealing with it? It’s not like Microsoft is going to cut the price in response to user demand.

Well I’m guilty of supporting them I guess. I wasn’t going to pay $6.25 for three songs but then I did and after I played Queen, The Donnas, and Edgar Winter a bunch of times I had to have more and bought pack #3 too.
